Overview

You'll be working in a collaborative environment alongside the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsels, contributing to the successful operation of the Legal Services Unit.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to a team of skilled lawyers.
  • Deliver energy regulation and policy in Queensland.
  • Work in a collaborative, supportive environment.
  • Support the management of Legal Services, including budget, resources and work allocation.
  • Communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage Legal Services' lawyers and legal products, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Provide strategic direction on Queensland Treasury projects, delivering practical solutions.
Qualifications
  • Significant legal experience in energy and commercial matters.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex legal advice effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions.
  • Successful team leadership in a large organisation.
  • Commitment to creating a positive work environment and mentoring legal staff.

Additional Information
  • The successful candidate must possess the capacity to obtain a practising certificate as a legal practitioner in Queensland at the time of appointment.
  • The advertised salary includes a 10% attraction and retention incentive. This incentive is reviewed on a yearly basis.
