Pacific Industries Ltd (PIL) is a reputable food and beverage manufacturer and distributor of leading international brands in Papua New Guinea. Established in 1936, PIL is one of the largest privately owned fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies in the country. We offer an extensive range of products including carbonated beverages, bottled water, juices, ice cream, cordial, milk powder, snacks, and spreads. PIL is the licensed and exclusive bottler for all PepsiCo products in Papua New Guinea and also serves as the distributor for Vita Juice, Vita Water, and Bega spreads. Our products are distributed nationwide through our 11 branches located throughout Papua New Guinea. PIL operates two manufacturing facilities: the original factory in Rabaul and a new best-in-class Krones facility situated in the nation's capital, Port Moresby. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers.

Position Objective

This is a highly dynamic role that demands strong problem-solving skills and people management capabilities, particularly within the FMCG market. The primary objective is to manage business sales performance against budget outcomes by leveraging key sales relationships and coordinating with internal sales heads across all 11 branches. A significant focus will also be on leading, inspiring, developing, and managing sales teams to pursue best practices, achieve targets, and deliver on key performance indicators.

This senior role is both customer- and people-centric, requiring a dynamic leader who thrives on building strong relationships, mentoring talent, and driving performance. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our sales strategy, achieving ambitious targets, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. To work collaboratively with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Workshop, and many other internal departments to maximize efficiencies, customer service, profitability, volume / revenue growth, market share & brand equity.

Responsibilities
  • Manage business sales performance against budget outcomes by leveraging key sales relationships and coordinating with internal sales heads across all 11 branches.
  • Lead, inspire, develop, and manage sales teams to pursue best practices, achieve targets, and deliver on key performance indicators.
  • Shape our sales strategy, achieving ambitious targets and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Workshop, and other internal departments to maximize efficiencies, customer service, profitability, volume/revenue growth, market share, and brand equity.

  • Experience as a national sales manager.
