Occupational Therapist - Early Start Australia Graduate Program

We are looking for Graduates who share our passion for making a difference and making therapy a fun, engaging and meaningful experience for families. You are enthusiastic and thrive in an environment that welcomes the fresh ideas you can bring to the wider team.

Overview

A smooth transition: We will provide you with a great onboarding experience, a high level of supervision and ongoing support, and a caseload you can ease into. You will also have a dedicated buddy to help you settle in and fortnightly technical training to boost your clinical skills and confidence.

Your own mentors: You'll be mentored by an experienced clinician, delivering therapy in one of our well-equipped clinics, client's homes and schools, and via telehealth. You'll also have 1-on-1 mentoring with a senior clinician to support your career ambitions for the future.

Connected with the brightest: The level of talent at Early Start Australia is impressive. With over 45 clinics nationally, our teams are well connected so you'll have access to world renowned professionals and learn some of the best minds across Australia.

Collaborate as one: Our close-knit and supportive multi-disciplinary teams inspire an environment of connection and collaboration. Work with dedicated Allied Health and client support professionals, collaborating on treatment plans and sharing knowledge to contribute to a holistic care approach for our wonderful clients.

Balance the way you work: Here, you'll get to enjoy a combination of working in-clinic and in-community.

Benefits for Our Grads
  • A collaborative service model where we value all client-related activities, giving you lots of time to spend on the extras that help them to achieve their therapy goals
  • Over 100 hrs of rostered annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours per year which includes monthly in-house training, daily team collaboration time, national and state clinical meetings, paid professional development leave and your own professional development allowance
  • Up to 12 weeks annual leave per year with our additional purchased leave program
  • Reduced prices and benefits from groceries to movie tickets
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Time allocated to therapy support activities - have more time to spend with your clients and the freedom to follow up, communicate and collaborate on everything needed to achieve their goals
Your Role as an OT Grad
  • Help children achieve their development milestones such as fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to help play, school or independent skills (eg throwing a ball, getting dressed, holding a pencil or utensil)
  • Educate and involve parents, carers and others to facilitate the development and learning of children
  • Help children with developmental delays learn everyday tasks (such as bathing, getting dressed, brushing their teeth and feeding themselves)
  • Help children with behavioural issues maintain positive behaviours in all environments (eg instead of hitting others and acting out, using positive ways to deal with anger such as writing about feelings or participating in physical activity)
Qualifications
  • A degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for AHPRA registration upon graduating
  • Graduated in the last 12 months or graduating in 2025
  • A full valid driver's license, with access to your own vehicle with third party insurance
