Overview

Responsibilities
  • Must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages
  • Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings
  • Describe menu items including daily specials for customers
  • Advise on menu selections
  • Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
  • Greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages
  • Serve food and beverages
  • Take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff
  • Provide customer service
  • Food safety/handling skills
Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
  • Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Food and beverage server trade certificate; Responsible Beverage Service Certificate; Food Safety Certificate; Serving It Right Certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
  • Asset languages: Mandarin
  • Languages: English
Work conditions
  • Work setting: Restaurant
  • On site: Work must be completed at the physical location; there is no option to work remotely
Compensation and hours
  • Salary: $17.85 to $19.00 hourly (to be negotiated)
  • Hours per week: 15 to 40
  • Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Part time leading to full time
  • Days: Day, Evening, Weekend
  • Starts as soon as possible
  • Benefits: Financial benefits (gratuities)
  • Location specifics: Victoria, BC; On-site
