Consultant/Senior Consultant

Eligibility

• Women's and Children's Health Network, Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric Nephrology Department - Kaurna Land, North Adelaide (5006)
• Classification - MD2 - Consultant / Senior Consultant – Base Salary - $227,591 -$299,884 (not inclusive of leave loading, superannuation, Rights of Private Practice and any other monetary allowances as outlined in the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2022).
• Employment - Part Time (0.5FTE) - Term Contract (2 February 2026 to 3 August 2027)

About the Opportunity

• Join the Paediatric Medicine team as a Consultant / Senior Consultant, responsible for:
• Delivering high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and community paediatric nephrology care using evidence-based clinical practices.
• Leading and contributing to education, training, and mentorship for junior medical staff, trainees, and other health professionals.
• Driving and participating in clinical research initiatives and multi-centre trials to advance knowledge in paediatric nephrology.
• Fostering a positive, safe, and collaborative team environment, managing conflict and promoting professional development.
• Overseeing quality management activities including clinical governance, risk assessment, and continuous improvement of service delivery.

About You

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated experience in paediatric renal medicine, preferably within a large teaching hospital setting.
• Proven leadership, management, and motivational skills to lead teams and foster positive working environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in research and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
