The Civmec Balanced Machines Division has secured numerous machine projects. These machines are designed, fabricated, assembled, and tested at our state-of-the-art Henderson facility. We have a healthy pipeline of upcoming projects in which Civmec will be involved.

We are seeking experienced Senior Structural Engineers to join our expanding team of professional Balanced Machines Engineers. The successful candidate will be part of a busy multi-discipline design and delivery team working on exciting mining machine projects for our clients.
The role includes a full project scope, from design and execution to final completion at client sites throughout WA. The position is based in Perth, with options for office locations in the CBD or Henderson.

The Role
  • Implement effective delivery of structural engineering components according to the Project Engineering Management Plan, aligned with the Project Execution Plan, including developing job instructions and liaising with clients on specific structural requirements.
  • Support bid preparation and client meetings in collaboration with the Sales Department as required by the Structural Engineering Manager.
  • Provide oversight, technical leadership, and mentoring to graduate engineers.
  • Ensure structural objectives are met through coordination with the Lead Structural Engineer.
  • Participate in structural meetings and reviews with the engineering team, project team, and clients during project execution.
  • Report on key quantities, budgets, deliverable status, progress, efficiency, and costs.
  • Contribute to engineering change management processes, including control, justification, and cost/time estimation.
  • Review structural documents and data as required.
  • Assist fabrication and package engineers to ensure timely delivery of fabrication packages.
  • Assist in developing the Project Execution Plan as needed.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent, recognized by Engineers Australia in civil/structural discipline.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in detailed design of structures/plants.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software such as SPACE GASS, ANSYS, Strand 7.
  • Deep understanding of relevant Australian Standards, including AS 4100, AS 3990, AS 4324.1.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports.
  • A collaborative approach to building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
