Overview

We are looking for a IT Support Technician to join our exciting, can-do, upbeat IT Support Team. Ideally you will have a can-do attitude as well as customer oriented focus. If you think this is you then please read on.

This position is onsite at our head office location in Claydon, Suffolk IP6 0FU.

Responsibilities
  • Be a reference point for all IT related queries from internal users, ensuring all information is captured into a defined task with desired outcomes.
  • Manage the support inbox and deliver exceptional service when dealing with requests that arrive via email, telephone or face-to-face.
  • Perform a majority of break/fix IT issues with support from the IT Manager or Managed Service Provider; assist other IT team members in resolving issues remotely or onsite.
  • Provide IT Support to end users across all businesses and complete allocated tasks to a high standard.
  • Answer inbound calls, record IT issue requests within a task, with desired outcome and time taken.
  • Handle new hardware requests, including ordering, setup and distribution.
  • Complete assigned project work as prescribed by the IT Manager.
  • Monitor desktops, servers and networks and take proactive steps to maintain systems.
Requirements

To be seriously considered for the role of IT Support Technician, please have the following:

  1. Qualifications: GNVQ/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent; 6 GCSE/O level passes (A*-C) including English and Math; recognized ICT qualifications (Desirable): CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, MCSE (Server/Desktop Infrastructure), MCSA (Windows 7/8/10/11); Full UK Driving License; Ability to pass DBS Checks.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years IT experience; experience with various Microsoft programs; experience with Windows 10/11, desktops, laptops, mobile devices; knowledge of Windows Server, Linux distributions, Azure, 365, Exchange, Entra, Intune; familiarity with 3CX Admin Console and Apple Business Manager (Desirable); Active Directory, Group Policies, File Servers; security and networks experience including Anti-Virus, Backups, Firewalls, VPN, etc.
  3. Knowledge: Microsoft Office support; network support; hardware/software installation; data transfer; system monitoring; routine system administration.
  4. Skills: Hardware troubleshooting; software troubleshooting (Windows, macOS, Linux); networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP); remote support tools and ticketing systems; server management and user administration (Azure/365/Entra/Intune).
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary: £25,396.00 - £28,000.00 per annum
  • Location: Onsite Claydon, Suffolk, IP6 0FU
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
  • Position: Permanent
