We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client – a highly successful, privately-owned business with a strong presence across retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and online channels. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Finance Manager to take charge of the financial operations and support strategic business decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to step into a broader leadership role within a fast-paced, multi-channel environment.

About the Role

Reporting directly to senior management, the Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting and financial functions, ensure compliance with statutory regulations, and deliver timely, insightful reporting to guide business performance. You will also play a key role in process improvement initiatives and assist with the integration of ERP systems.

This is a hands-on position that also involves leading a small team and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly management reports and financial statements in compliance with AASB
  • Manage tax compliance including GST, BAS, PAYG, and liaising with external accountants
  • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis
  • Track and report on key operational metrics such as inventory turnover, sales trends, and cost efficiency
  • Assist in managing year-end financial reporting and external audits
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP systems and financial processes
  • Supervise and mentor junior finance staff
Candidate Profile

We're seeking candidates with a strong foundation in financial management and a proactive, business-oriented mindset.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA or CA qualified (or near completion)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, including exposure to retail or inventory-based businesses
  • Proven experience with statutory compliance and financial reporting
Skills:
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian financial regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under deadlines
