About this opportunity

We're seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice - Horticulture to start a career in horticulture and open space maintenance. Applicants already partway through their Horticulture apprenticeship are also encouraged to apply and will be considered fully.

As an Apprentice, you will:

  • Assist in maintaining parks, gardens, and streetscapes through planting, pruning, mulching, and general upkeep
  • Operate various tools and machinery following safety protocols
  • Support community events and programs related to open spaces
  • Gain hands-on experience and mentorship from our expert team
  • Attend scheduled tertiary training at a registered training organisation

Use a combination of tertiary and practical skills to gain your Certificate III in Horticulture. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills, earn a nationally recognised qualification, and cultivate your passion for green environments.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Previous horticultural or landscape experience and/or completion of a pre-apprenticeship or Horticultural course is desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a proactive team player
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work well with colleagues
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check
  • Current Victorian driver's license
