Employment type: Talent Pool Creation (valid for up to 18 months). Salary: $99,938 - $110,271 per annum, plus super and leave loading (Clerk Grade 5/6).

As a Community Corrections Officer, you will join a dedicated and dynamic team focused on offender rehabilitation and enhancing community safety. In this role, you will collaborate with individuals under supervision to develop and implement rehabilitative strategies, monitor progress toward established goals, and conduct home visits to ensure compliance with conditions. In some locations, officers also work with offenders in custody to prepare reintegration into the community upon release on parole. You will contribute to improving lives in diverse communities and welcome motivated candidates with cultural knowledge and experience.

• Senior Community Corrections Officer
• Team Leader or Manager
• Specialist roles in programs, training, or investigations
• Opportunities across the broader NSW justice and human services sector

• Understanding of the NSW criminal justice system, skills in case management, and understanding the needs of Aboriginal communities.
• Commitment to providing support and strengthening relationships between Community Corrections and local service providers as well as the local Aboriginal community.
• Upholding values and behaviours with a strong focus on community safety.
• Fostering positive relationships between Communities and Justice, with emphasis on supporting local Aboriginal and CALD communities.
• Exceptional communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and integrity in all interactions.
• Experience in case management, resilience, integrity, and a proactive, positive attitude.
• Ability to work from an office to interact face to face with people under supervision.
• Ability to thrive in a challenging environment while applying cultural sensitivity and awareness.
• Ability to develop and implement effective strategies while demonstrating decisiveness in managing emotionally charged situations and addressing complex issues.
