About the Role

We're seeking an experienced manual software tester to join a major and high-profile project. You'll join an existing team who has extensive experience in the application environment and you will have time to get up to speed with its complexities. You will play a key role supporting our client by delivering high-quality testing outcomes. This role is suited to someone with strong manual testing expertise, exposure to complex transactional systems with high levels of integration. The existing team has worked together for a long time, and their culture is one of care and pride in their platform; quality of work, problem-solving skills and attention to detail are paramount.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases using Zephyr.
  • Document and report test outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and product owners to understand requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
  • Perform functional, integration and regression testing of a suite of core systems and their integrations.
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies during release cycles.
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior testers within the team.
  • Participate in sprint activities, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives, while also supporting release activities.
  • Utilise SQL for interaction with databases.
  • Use Team City for building and executing automation test suites.
  • Deploy components to environments with Octopus Deploy.

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience in software testing with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
  • Ability to write clear and concise test cases and documentation.
  • Experience working in traditional SDLC and agile environments.
  • Strong SQL skills for test data preparation and validation.
  • Exposure to tools such as Zephyr, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy and Jira for defect tracking.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships.
  • Prior experience in large-scale transaction system projects in highly regulated sectors is an advantage.

Duration

  • Initial contract: 12 months, with a possibility of an extension.

Location & Working Model

  • Brisbane-based role with a hybrid model – 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
