• Developer - Grade 7/8 ($113,574- $125,720 + Super)

Spatial Services, a division of the Department of Customer Service is the key provider of spatial land information services in New South Wales.

Spatial Services\' integrated framework connects the people of NSW to a comprehensive package of land and property services including property information, surveying and mapping.

Spatial Services\' provides land information services to individuals, businesses, government agencies and non-profit organisations throughout NSW, Australia and internationally.

As the developer you will be responsible for coordinating the planning, creation, testing, and documentation for new and amended software components. Your expertise will be important in supporting the team to provide advice, and assistance in resolving software and data issues.

• Ability to provide designs to enhance applications and services to manage spatial and associated data, integrating with on-premises and cloud-based systems
• Proven experience in translating business requirements into workable technical solutions.
• Ability to undertake administration, testing and deployment of applications utilising agile methodologies
• Ability to collaborate with team members, other business units and agencies to deliver consistent solutions based on shared knowledge and understanding
• Proven ability to understand processes and information workflows and show initiative to support the broader operations

Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:

• Web application design and development including server-side APIs (preferably utilising NodeJS or Python) and client-side UIs (utilising HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
• Source code version control repositories (preferably Git) and associated platforms (such as BitBucket, GitHub, etc.)
• Automated deployments via CI/CD pipelines and associated platforms (such as AWS Code Pipeline, Bamboo, BitBucket Pipeline, etc.)
• Databases and associated processing and storage techniques (such as ETL – extracting, transforming, loading)
• Management of applications and file systems via CLI and associated scripts (such as Batch and Shell)
• Cloud based development in AWS is an advantage

In the role of Developer, you will collaborate with various teams that utilise a range of IT systems to achieve their objectives. See below non exhaustive list. Familiarity with these tools can be beneficial in understanding the workflows and processes within the organisation.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at 113,574 base plus superannuation
