As a result of expanding scope of works within UGL's portfolio, we are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Operations & Maintenance team at HMAS Albatross in the Shoalhaven Region of NSW. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation. The Role

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at HMAS Albatross, supporting the NSW Shoalhaven region, with occasional regional travel across NSW. You will be part of a core crew of UGL technicians. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
  • Diagnostics and repair in breakdown environments of fuel-related assets and equipment
  • Project work on fuel installation and related assets as required
  • Supporting subcontracted work packages
  • Supporting various sites in the region with occasional travel across NSW
Rates as of 1st July 2025 for Maintenance Trades (Mechanical)
  • Level 1 - $47.07 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
  • Level 2 - $50.67 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
  • Level 3 (Dual Trade) - $54.28 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
What You Need

You will be a strong team player, a self-starter, and dedicated to delivering high-quality outcomes. You should have:

  • Trade qualification (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience
  • Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas
  • Experience in defence fuels network or defence industry (highly regarded)
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets (highly regarded)
  • Safety-conscious attitude
  • Current or ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance
