About The Role

The Support Worker plays a vital role in fostering a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for individuals living with disabilities, children, and young people in the care of Allambi Care. Through tailored person-centred active support, this role empowers participants and young people, including those with complex needs, to develop daily living skills, engage in community activities, and build their capacity for greater independence and inclusivity, ultimately helping them achieve their goals.

Your Daily Tasks
  • Building a relationship with the people you are caring for.
  • Providing care to participants, following a routine developed specifically in consultation with the participants and their needs, including personal, medication and domestic care.
  • Transporting the people in our care to and from school, grocery shopping and appointments.
  • Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the client.
  • Report writing.

About You

To be successful in the role you will need to meet the following Essential Criteria:

  • Current Working with Children Check (for paid employment - can be obtained via https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-working-children-check)
  • Current NDIS Worker Check (can be obtained via https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/ndiswc-apply)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID011)
  • National Police Check (this must be obtained via https://www.employmentscreeninggroup.com/au/allambi/)
  • A current driver's licence (minimum of a P2)
  • A vehicle that can transport upwards of 4 people
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance
  • Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module (can be accessed via: https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/)
  • Ability to work a 7-day shift work roster
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks
  • Two professional references

  • Certificate 4 Disability, or Disability Support or equivalent.
  • Certificate 3 Individual Support
  • Certificate 3 Aged Care
