About the opportunity

Opportunity for an Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Optimisation Theory to join The School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney, one of the largest mathematical sciences schools in Australia. As the Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Optimisation Theory you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning design, delivery, and evaluation while continuing to build your research contribution, expertise and impact. Your key responsibilities will be to:

• contribute to the development, implementation, and promotion of innovative mathematical education programs within the School of Mathematics and Statistics
• collaborate effectively with academic and professional staff across the University of Sydney on both teaching and research initiatives
• play a leading role in advancing the school's research, education, and administrative activities, while building a strong reputation as a respected authority in the field of mathematical sciences.

About you

• a PhD or equivalent doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
• an outstanding track record of research publications in the area of Optimisation Theory
• evidence of success in securing competitive research grants
• evidence of ability, versatility and commitment to excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• experience in supervising students across various academic levels
• a developing understanding of key strategic issues within the discipline and the broader higher education sector.
