Through the merger of Bank Australia and Qudos Bank we're creating a better, stronger and more resilient bank for our customers and employees. As one company with two trusted brands, we're building on the strong foundations of our history and shared values as we bring together the best of both banks.

The Coordinator Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) will support the Manager, HSW in the development and implementation of the Bank's health, safety and wellbeing framework and provide support and advice to the business in aspects of HSW. This includes risk management, incident response, HSW reporting and contributing to proactive engagement and well-being initiatives designed to minimise the risk to the health and safety of the Bank's employees, contractors, and customers and visitors.

  • We have big plans to become Australia's leading purpose-driven bank.
  • As a certified B Corp, we're part of a global business community who meet the highest social and environmental standards, balancing profit and purpose.
  • Every role and person in our bank is essential to bringing our values, purpose and aspiration to life.
  • We offer flexible working options, competitive salary and 13% super.
  • Our staff have access to a range of meaningful benefits to support their physical and mental wellbeing including 24/7 free counselling, free flu vaccinations and discounted gym memberships.
  • We also support staff with study assistance, paid parental leave (regardless of gender), volunteer, bereavement, gender affirmation and family violence leave; and the opportunity for bonus annual leave.
  • We support our staff to grow their careers through learning and development and an organisational culture where we reward and recognise innovation and values, not long hours.
  • We are committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce that reflects the Australian community.
  • We care for a conservation reserve – where we work with key partner organisations to protect threatened species and involve staff in conservation.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in implementing the Bank's Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) strategy and annual plan to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintain and enhance HSW systems and processes, ensuring timely communication of updates and initiatives across the business including integration of Qudos WHS into the Bank's HSW systems.
  • Support the development of a proactive HSW culture by promoting risk awareness and injury prevention, and building strong partnerships across teams
  • Assist business units in identifying hazards, assessing and controlling risks, and consulting with HSW Committee members
  • Monitor incident and risk registers to ensure timely reporting, investigation, and actioning of incidents, including assigning follow-up actions
  • Support workers compensation, injury management, and return-to-work processes in collaboration with the Manager HSW and P&C Business Partners
  • Assist with wellbeing programs and governance activities across the Bank
  • Provide administrative support including monthly reporting, meeting coordination, and acting as Secretary to the HSW Consultative Committee
  • Contribute to the development and review of HSW policies, procedures, templates, and guidelines to support best practice risk management
  • Develop and manage HSW inspection plans across Bank sites, ensuring documentation, compliance tracking, and reporting
  • Review first aid risk assessments in consultation with staff, monitor training currency, and coordinate bookings

What you will bring

  • Initiative and problem-solving ability, with a proactive approach to keeping the Manager HSW informed
  • Ability to build professional, collaborative relationships across the organisation
  • Qualifications and strong experience in a similar or related HSW role
  • Experience with safety auditing/self-assessment and contributing to the development and improvement of safety management systems
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and HSW documentation
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and contribute to incident and injury reduction
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to various Bank sites as required
  • Dedication to promoting a positive safety culture and delivering accurate, timely HSW support
  • Commitment to Bank Australia's purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos.
