Job Description Summary

Based onsite at our brand new, luxury build-to-rent apartments in Melbourne, you will work as part of our close-knit onsite community team, providing vital support to create an exceptional resident experience. This is a hands-on role, responsible for reactive, scheduled, and statutory maintenance works to maintain the interior and exterior of the property, as well as common areas.

Work Schedule

Our onsite teams work a rotating roster, 5 days per week, 7.6-hour days, between Monday and Sunday, with alternating start times of 8 am or 11 am.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and repairing maintenance issues in line with policies, codes, and safety standards.
  • Preparing vacant units for new residents by completing inspections and necessary repairs.
  • Maintaining community cleanliness and overall appearance to reflect high standards.
  • Overseeing work by contractors, vendors, and service providers to verify quality and compliance.
  • Managing maintenance supplies and inventory.
  • Performing routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintaining statutory testing records, including annual checks of emergency lighting, fire alarms, and safety systems.
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to after-hours emergency calls.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Local requirements; valid driver's license.
  • Experience in building maintenance, residential properties, or related trades.
  • Qualifications or experience in electrical, mechanical engineering, plumbing, or HVAC is highly regarded.
  • Physical ability to carry up to 12 kg, climb ladders, bend, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of health and safety risks (manual handling, site safety, chemicals, trip hazards).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Helpful and friendly manner, professional and courteous.
  • Ability to obtain a favourable National Criminal History Check and Working with Children check.
