About the role

As a Support Coordinator, you will work closely with recipients to navigate the NDIS and interpret their individual packages; it is your role to ensure they are getting the most out of their NDIS plans.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Supporting and empowering recipients to make their own choices about how they want to lead their lives.
  • Coordinating a variety of services for recipients to support them in living fulfilling and meaningful lives within the community.
  • Engaging with and managing recipients' key stakeholders (including government agencies, community and clinical service providers, and families) to ensure supports and services are leveraged effectively.
  • Working with recipients to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports to live their best life.

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have :

  • A genuine interest in mental health and the disability sector (highly desirable).
  • A working knowledge of the NDIS.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A commitment to best practice.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively engage recipients.
  • Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals.

Role Requirements

  • Certificate IV in mental health or minimum 2 years' experience in the mental health sector.
  • Current nationally recognized First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain).
  • A current minimum P1 'C' class Queensland driver's license.
  • A roadworthy, registered, and comprehensively insured car.
  • A Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate.
