About the role

Workingat the cutting edge of semiconductor device fabrication for atomic-scale devices alongside global experts at SQC and UNSW Sydney, you'll contribute to the fabrication and characterisation of quantum devices in a cleanroom environment, helping scale up to utility-scale logical quantum computing.

This rolereports to the Quantum Device Fabrication and Integration Team Lead and will work closely with cleanroom managers, scientists, and engineers.

Role responsibilities

• Perform semiconductor device fabrication using techniques such as electron beam lithography, dry and wet etching, and metal deposition
• Assist in maintaining cleanroom equipment and managing consumables
• Record and analyse process data to support device optimisation
• Contribute to process documentation and safe work procedures
• Provide technical support and training to research staff and students
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and cleanroom managers to ensure high device yield and operational continuity

Your experience

• Undergraduate or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Nanotechnology, or a related field
• 1–3 years' experience in cleanroom semiconductor processing (industry or academic)
• Hands-on experience with one or more of: electron beam lithography, etching, metal deposition
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and safety procedures
