Application Engineer

Location: Australia

Report to: Asia Application Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

• Provide Engineering consulting support to sales organization. This includes telephone and written correspondence, joint calls with sales personnel to address customer's technical inquiries and investigating field installations as to product usage and performance. Address direct customer inquiries regarding Victaulic product features, benefits and applications. When appropriate, make joint calls with sales personnel to customer's facilities to address technical inquiries and seminars.
• Investigate product performance issues at field installations and with returned materials.
• Conduct training sessions with new Victaulic employees to educate them on the features and benefits of our products and services.
• Serve as an internal resource on product issues, representing the customer's needs.
• Continually update personal knowledge of Victaulic products, competitive products, and relevant markets.
• When requested, provide assistance in local product regulatory matters.
• Perform additional related projects as assigned by the Manager of Application Engineering.
• Specific policies and procedures have been established by the Engineering Department to provide for the security and accessibility of electronic data and confidential information. It is the responsibility of the employee, in the daily course of doing business, to follow said policies as they relate to document management (see EOG-26). The extent to which departmental research and development information is stored electronically has vastly increased, and will continue to do so. The new Federal rules pertaining to electronic discovery stipulate that substantive email communications constituted "records" under the Federal Records Act. It is therefore the responsibility of each departmental employee to understand their role in communicating via e-mails and that all e-mails must be written/responded to in a professional manner, as outlined in EOG-26.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Excellent communication skills and professional appearance.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin for both written and oral communication
• Organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Willingness to travel overseas, including but not limited to Asia, Oceania and American.
• Self-motivation and desire to excel.
• Experience in fire protection or HVAC system design/construction/operation is a plus.
