Montsalvat is seeking a friendly and professionalAdmissions Attendantto join our team. This casual role is at the heart of the visitor experience, welcoming guests, processing admission ticket sales, and providing excellent customer service. The position includesdaytime weekend workand additional hours duringpeak seasonal periods.

About Montsalvat

Montsalvat is an artistic community spanning nine decades of continuous creative practice. Established in 1934, Montsalvat has fostered a deeply connected creative community and provided thousands of painters, sculptors, musicians, writers, philosophers, poets and other makers with the time, space and support to further their creative practice.

Once a private semi-rural retreat for artists, Montsalvat has evolved into a public hub of creative opportunity; a place where art is made and taught as well as exhibited and performed. Montsalvat offers art classes, studio places and short-term residencies to a wide variety of experienced and aspiring artists, alongside numerous events and private function facilities across three dozen unique, heritage-listed buildings and five hectares of stunning grounds.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors and process admission ticket sales.
  • Provide information and wayfinding support, working collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
  • Respond to general enquiries about Montsalvat's café, exhibitions, events and arts education programs.
  • Reconcile ticket sales and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Deliver warm, professional and consistent customer service to visitors, artists, hirers, facilitators and stakeholders.
  • Support safe and positive visitor experiences by following OH&S procedures and participating in site safety training.

About You

  • A natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine enthusiasm for customer service.
  • Confident in handling cash and EFTPOS transactions, with basic POS experience (or willingness to learn).
  • Available to work weekends, particularly during the spring and summer seasons.
  • Organised, reliable and adaptable, able to manage enquiries and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in visitor services, ticketing, retail, reception or similar roles (desirable).

You'll report directly to the Manager, Program & Administration and work closely with the Venue Supervisor, Café team, and Programs staff.
