About the RoleThe NSWEC HRBP Manager is responsible for leading the HR Business Partnering function for NSW Energy Coal (NSWEC), ensuring alignment with strategic workforce planning, operational excellence, and transition-to-closure objectives. Working across both our Newcastle office and Muswellbrook located mine, this NSW based role is pivotal in shaping a future-ready culture that integrates safety, well-being, inclusion, and performance as levers for innovation and decision-making.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with NSWEC leadership to translate global HR strategies into asset-level plans that support operational goals.
- Workforce Transition & Closure: Support the development and execution of the Workforce Transition Strategy, ensuring retention and productivity through to planned closure in 2030.
- Talent & Succession Planning: Maintain robust talent pipelines for NSWEC Leadership team roles.
- Culture & Engagement: Drive initiatives that foster a high-performance culture
- Formal qualification in a HR/Employment Law/ Psychology related discipline with experience from a diverse range of industries.
- Proven experience in HR business partnering at a senior level
- Experience in large, complex organizations
- Strong background in workforce transition, change management and and employee relations
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes
- Familiarity working within a matrix reporting structure.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement to optimize performance and deliverables.
