This is a great opportunity for qualified teachers who enjoy swimming, love working with children, and want to teach swimming skills and water safety.

The Role

You will teach effective Swimming and Water Safety to help grow our swim program. This is a casual role requiring morning, evening, and weekend work, and you must be empathetic to the needs of the classes.

MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE.

You should have a passion for swimming and making children safer around water. Be energetic, dynamic, outgoing, and fun, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service to ensure members, patrons, and parents benefit and enjoy our services.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students of diverse ages, abilities, cultures, and needs.

Skills & Attributes :

  • Energetic, innovative, and decisive teaching style
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of OHS and public safety applications
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends, with empathy for class needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current First Aid (Level 2) & CPR Certificate
  • Blue Card: Working With Children Check & National Police Check
  • Current Swim Certificate – Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety
  • Desirable: Swim Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics
  • Desirable: Swim Teacher of Aquatics Access and Inclusion
  • Previous experience as a swim teacher is essential
  • Ability to swim is essential
