Role

The Early Childhood & Caregiver Support Team Leader will manage and support the Early Childhood & Caregiver Support Team and provide support to the Clinical Services Team Leader in clinical quality improvement projects, specific clinical projects, clinical consultancy systems and liaison with relevant stakeholders. The position also plays an important role in the design and provision of training related to the core function of the team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and support the Early Childhood & Caregiver Support Team.
  • Support the Clinical Services Team Leader in clinical quality improvement projects and clinical consultancy systems.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and contribute to training design and provision related to the team's core functions.
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications including registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA) such as Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Counselling/Psychotherapy.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual and group mental health interventions for young children and their caregivers.
  • Demonstrated leadership/management experience with excellent communication skills, including risk management related to child protection, domestic and family violence (DFV), and mental health concerns.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting refugees and the effects of torture and trauma on individuals, families and communities, particularly young children and their caregivers.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision, consultation and support.
  • Understanding of community development approaches, and knowledge and experience in project management, networking and liaison.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within a multicultural environment.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence.
Desirable Requirements
  • Skills in designing and delivering training.
  • Experience in developing quality improvement projects in clinical programs.
  • This position is child-related employment and will require a Working with Children Background Check and a National Police Check.
Vaccination Requirements
  • This role is Category A; it is mandatory for Category A workers to meet and maintain the vaccination criteria (as per NSW Health and STARTTS policies).

Vaccination and/or assessment is required for Category A workers for certain transmissible diseases. COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not a requirement for employment. If successful, you must provide evidence of vaccination and/or assessment. If you cannot comply with vaccination requirements before commencement, the offer of employment may be withdrawn. A medical contraindication evidence will be required if applicable.

Work Details
  • Work Type: Full time; 38 hours per week. Contract up to 30 June 2027 (continuation subject to ongoing funding)
