Salary: Registrar Year 1-7 $147,236 to $196,540* p.a.
- includes base salary $120,492 to $164,513 pa, professional development allowance $10,969 pa and 12% employer contributed superannuation.
POSITION PROFILE
The intensive care unit at Bunbury Hospital operates in 2 pods totalling up to 8 beds.
The unit admits adult general surgical and medical patients for both intensive care and high dependency care. It is the only regional ICU in WA, and averages 600-700 patient admissions per year. The ICU also provides an ICU Outreach Service including MET and Code Blue Response, patient transport and retrieval.
Bunbury ICU is accredited by the College of Intensive Care of Australia and New Zealand for Limited General Training (G6) and Rural training. There are opportunities available for accredited rotation through anaesthetics, paediatrics, general medicine and ED.
Bunbury Hospital is accredited for Australian Medical Council Work-based Assessment (WBA) for eligible applicants, however hospital-based rotations in general medicine, surgery and emergency medicine for full general registration is not a component of this post and there is a considerable application waitlist for the WBA program.
To Be Successful In The Role
Applicants must hold or be eligible for Registration with the Australian Medical Board, be at least PGY3 level and six months experience in Critical Care Medicine at a registrar level is preferred (Emergency; ICU or Anaesthetics), with a preference for candidates who have experience from Australia or a comparable health system.
