Overview

Research Project Manager role at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) – School of Nursing, Faculty of Health. Hybrid position with opportunities for flexible, virtual, and connected work arrangements.

Responsibilities
  • Support the research program lead to develop and implement research strategy through management of program operations.
  • Oversee project management, governance processes, and the development and implementation of strategies that maximise research outcomes and partnerships.
  • Manage day-to-day program operations including office administration, HR, budgeting and financial reporting, space and resource management, communications and marketing, and OH&S.
  • Act as the key liaison within the program for university divisions that oversee Finance and Resource Planning, Human Resources, Office of Research, and Office of Commercial Services.
  • Contribute to internal and external collaborations to strengthen health outcomes research and service delivery.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in a university, healthcare or research-intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor research teams and processes, including budgets, resource management and research reporting, and to develop policies and plans to deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Strong budget development, financial management and cost-control skills to achieve project deliverables and contractual requirements.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, initiative and problem-solving ability; proven experience managing projects, people and workflows to meet outcomes and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with stakeholders and senior managers in a professional and culturally sensitive manner.
  • High-level written communication skills for preparing reports, plans, correspondence, and documentation using a range of computer applications.
