Coldstore Dispatch Supervisor

Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced dispatch supervisor with an eye for quality, and a customer service ethos.

Our facility supports Frozen and Chilled distribution into refrigerated containers and trucks. Our automated systems are great, but it requires leadership and direction to ensure the right carton/pallet ends up in the right destination.

Rostered hours are 04:00 to approximately 13:30. Occasional afternoon or night shift for leave coverage or extreme rostering problems.

What skill are we looking for?

• Maintaining Loadout production, quality and safety to prescribed standards.
• Actively supervising the department to achieve competent and effective completion of work tasks and appropriate team manning levels.
• Support and co-ordinate the activities of Leading Hands and Staff by deploying quality leadership, effective delegation and implementation of controls.
• Control the planning and operation of the department through pre-hygiene inspection to production released from refrigeration to clean-down after production.
• Actively promote all company policies and procedures and safe work instructions to ensure compliance with legislative responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance of company's Occupational Health and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Ensure communication and information sharing across the department.
• Facilitate the planning and implement daily production schedules.
  
  

What experience are we looking for?

• Ideally have experience in export meat processing with exposure to manual handling, warehousing and dispatch functions and job roles.
• Knowledge of the Export Meat Control Act and associated regulations.
• Adequate levels of physical and mental fitness to carryout manual handling task as required in the department, along with the ability to cope with the ever-changing demands of the department.
• Basic computer skills capability
• Business certificate or equivalent workplace experience
• Current forklift licence desirable.
• Knowledge and experience of warehousing, electronic scanning systems and logistics
• Strong communication and people handling skills
