What you'll be doing

SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Service offers a range of treatment and support services for people with problems from their alcohol, prescription or illicit drug use, and/or their families and carers. Outpatient D&A services are located in clinics at the Langton Centre in Surry Hills, St George Hospital in Kogarah, and Caringbah Community Health Centre at Sutherland Hospital. Inpatient D&A services are provided at Sydney Hospital, Prince of Wales, St. George and Sutherland Hospitals. Our goal is to improve health, wellbeing and social outcomes for individuals, families and the community, related to drug and alcohol use.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Drug & Alcohol is primarily located at the Langton Centre Drug & Alcohol Service and works closely with the Service Manager to deliver senior leadership in the coordination and delivery of community treatment services, including opioid agonist treatment and ambulatory care services. The position works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, support, crisis intervention, care planning and evaluation of care in line with the NSW Health Clinical Care Standards: Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Drug & Alcohol delivers clinical leadership and education, and participates in research and clinical services planning in line with the criteria for a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 as per the NSW Public Health System Nurses and Midwives (State) Award.
The position may be required to work across multiple SESLHD Drug & Alcohol Service locations.
