About the Client:
Elmac Homes is a proudly South Australian, family-run business delivering bespoke residential projects of exceptional quality. With a portfolio of award-winning designs recognised by the Housing Industry Association (HIA), we specialise in creating homes that are as individual as our clients. From complex custom builds to beautifully detailed renovations, our focus is on quality, craftsmanship, and a client experience that's second to none.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our close-knit, supportive team and lead the delivery of high-end residential projects across South Australia. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where your expertise will directly shape the success of each build, and your voice will be valued in a business where collaboration and quality are at the heart of what we do.
This rare position blends technical expertise, project management, and team leadership, and your strong track record in managing new builds and renovations across diverse projects, from modern designs to traditional craftsmanship will see you succeed. With a deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and compliance requirements, you'll drive excellence and consistency across our award-winning homes
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our construction team, including guiding, mentoring and supporting supervisors, apprentices, and contractors.
- Oversee multiple high-value residential projects end to end, from handover to completion, ensuring high quality, safety, cost control, and client satisfaction at all times.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely, on-budget delivery without compromising craftsmanship.
- Provide support with quoting, project estimation, and feasibility reviews.
- Conduct site inspections and assess design proposals to identify structural or budgetary considerations.
- Ensure all building sites positively reflect Elmac Homes including regulatory and compliance standards for safety, cleanliness, and resource and environmental management.
- Champion our commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing by following safe work practices and promoting compliance with all WHS policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, guiding them through the construction process with clear communication and expert advice.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence across all construction activities.
- Extensive experience in residential construction management, ideally with a track record in custom or higher-value projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end projects, involving a wide range of technical expertise and experience managing complex matters.
- Proven business acumen and the ability to develop and monitor budgets and financial targets.
- High level of competency with MS Applications, Project Management software, CRM, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge of South Australian building codes, legislation, and quality standards.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams and contractors.
- Highly effective communication, influence, and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of detail.
- A client-first mindset and a passion for delivering outstanding results.
- Award-winning projects - work on unique, architecturally designed homes that have received industry accolades.
- Family business culture - be part of a tight, collaborative team where decisions are made locally and quickly.
- High-quality focus - deliver projects where the standard is excellence, not compromise.
- Leadership impact - take a pivotal role shaping the construction function and influencing business success.
- Variety of work - manage both new builds and renovations across modern and traditional designs.
- Client connection - enjoy direct engagement with clients who value craftsmanship and personalised service.
- Stability and growth - join a builder with a strong pipeline of projects and long-term vision.
