The Opportunity

View, you will help develop and implement wellness programs that promote healthy living and community engagement while building relationships with residents, team members, and external organizations.

About The Role

You'll be responsible for creating and updating activity calendars, notices, and schedules, overseeing event setup and takedown, and arranging bus transportation for residents. This includes driving the Baptist Housing bus, planning engaging activities, and considering feedback from residents and team members. Additionally, you'll be responsible for compiling and managing important documentation such as attendance records, progress reports, and activity plans as requested by the Activity Coordinator. You'll also play a role in establishing a network of resources comprising individuals, volunteers, and organizations while promoting health and safety practices within the team.

Requirements

  1. Completion of Grade 12 education and recognized recreational courses for seniors.
  2. Previous experience in coordinating activities for seniors or related combinations of education, training, and experience.
  3. A valid Class 4 unrestricted driver's license or a willingness to obtain a Class 4.

You excel at time management, efficiently scheduling and prioritizing activities to ensure a balanced and engaging daily routine for residents. Moreover, you have a keen eye for detail and a compassionate nature, enabling you to observe and recognize changes in residents' overall well-being, whether physical, emotional, or psychological. You are proactive in attending recommended relevant conferences, workshops, and events, ensuring you stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in senior care. You model our Baptist Housing values in all your interactions with residents, team members, and external parties.

Compensation and Benefits

As a member of the Hospital Employees Union, you will earn an hourly wage of $29.83 and be welcomed into an environment where support for you is prioritized.
