Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Engineer - Geotechnical role at SMEC.

We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Sydney. You will apply design engineering knowledge and project management skills to support ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, delivering complete analysis and design tasks as assigned by Managers or Project Managers. You will also lead and support winning new work, develop client relationships, and contribute to SMEC's market presence.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the client and SMEC requirements.
  • Proactively collaborate with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables.
  • Actively contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team.
  • Apply project management principles to carry out tasks and deliver project outputs to the required standard and in a timely manner.
About You / Qualifications
  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering;
  • Relevant industry certification – CPEng, RPEQ (QLD)
  • 6-8 years' professional industry experience, ideally within a consultancy
  • Ability to interpret and communicate information of a complex nature;
  • Client service orientation;
  • Proven project management skills (meeting budget, timeframe and client requirements);
  • Familiar with relevant Australian Standards and specifications;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a diverse, multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Ability to apply new knowledge;
  • Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
