- Foreign investment regulatory advice and applications;
- Emerging and start up enterprise, and market access;
- Renewable energy project (AREAN funding, PPAs, connection agreements, regulatory compliance);
- Regulatory and corporate including across ASIC, ASX, AEMO, and CER;
- Joint ventures, partnerships and business structuring;
- Complex commercial agreements and negotiation;
- Corporate governance and compliance;
- Company secretarial matters and directors' duties.
About the team
Our national Corporate & Commercial group work with clients across a variety of sectors, across the full spectrum of corporate and commercial transactions, including:

Our Brisbane team is seeking a corporate lawyer with 4-6 years PAE. Working closely with Partner, Jeanne Vallade, you will work on a wide range of complex transactional and regulatory matters, cross border and domestic M&A and general corporate matters.
You will be involved advising on complex corporate transactions, business structure/ restructure, governance, waste and energy project startups, and contract preparation. You will also be afforded opportunities to work with the teams in our Sydney and Melbourne offices (including other practice groups) and benefit from our national practice.
Jeanne has a particular focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, new technology, manufacturing and defence sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to receive hands on mentoring and guidance from a seasoned professional admitted as a legal practitioner in several jurisdictions while you continue to grow your skills and depth of experience in a genuinely supportive environment.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have experience in corporate and commercial law matters and foreign investment and/or sound knowledge of the relevant legislation. You will be eager to find a firm where you can continue to grow your career and benefit from opportunities to progress in our Corporate & Commercial practice. This position will suit candidates interested in a varied practice who enjoy the challenge of consistently resolving new legal issues and developing professional relationships with a diverse range of local and international clients.
To be successful in this role, you will be:
- Technically strong and commercially aware
- Reliable, responsive, and able to operate autonomously
- Adaptable and confident advising across sectors and jurisdictions
- Interested in regulatory frameworks and the commercial realities of the energy and infrastructure sectors
- Possess excellent communication and drafting skills (proficiency in a language other than English will be highly regarded);
- Have an openness and interest in creative problem solving and trying new techniques to address complex legal issues;
- Possess excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise;
- Have a desire to support and guide less experienced lawyers/ paralegals in the team.
