About the firmLaity Morrow is a transactional and advisory law firm with three core practice areas:
- M&A and Corporate;
- Projects, Property and Construction; and
- Energy, Resources and Renewables.
We provide a premium transactional commercial and corporate legal service, often acting on our clients' most demanding and complex matters. We work as a cohesive group of like-minded, team-orientated lawyers without silos, or individual billable targets or other barriers to collaborative culture, which commonly arise in traditional law firm structures.
Examples of our corporate work includes acting for Adelaide University in connection with the merger of The University of Adelaide and University of South Australia, Myriota's $50M capital raising with the Commonwealth National Reconstruction Fund and the sale of iconic South Australian business Balfours.
About the roleWe are seeking a corporate lawyer with 2-4 years PQE experience to support the Directors in our Corporate practice.
You will work closely with and by supported by our senior corporate lawyers on complex and interesting corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings, as well as 'day-to-day' matters such as drafting shareholders' agreements, assisting with buy backs and capital reductions, preparing meeting documents and providing corporate governance advice.
Our team-oriented structure means that you will also have opportunities to gain experience in our other core practice areas from time to time, including working on major infrastructure, energy and defence projects.
You will have a pathway for promotion as you continue to develop within our firm.
About youCandidates will:
- have 2-4 years PQE experience working in corporate law;
- thrive on complex work in a fast-paced and high-performance environment;
- have strong drafting skills and commercial acumen, and high attention to detail;
- have a commitment to client service and an interest in developing client relationships;
- work collaboratively with all members of our firm;
- be reliable and have a high level of integrity; and
- be self-motivated, proactive and resourceful with a strong work ethic.
