We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Brisbane team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with strong commercial acumen and leadership capabilities to play a key role in delivering multiple projects while contributing to overall business growth and success.

With a family-friendly balance of office and site-based responsibilities, this position offers the flexibility to make a meaningful impact on project success while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing engineering and project management support onsite to supervisory and project staff to deliver successful execution of multiple projects
  • Developing cost effective engineering solutions; working collaboratively with the Hawthorne Civil team and clients
  • Managing and monitoring progress and performance against safety, time, cost, and quality targets to achieve successful outcomes
  • Monthly forecasting of time and cost outcomes at project completion
  • Procurement of key subcontractors and suppliers, along with plant, equipment, and material across multiple projects
  • Managing and supporting with commercial matters.
  • Undertaking inspections of temporary works and pre-pour inspections
  • Preparing monthly financial and progress reports

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, RPEQ a bonus
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in delivering structures on major projects to QR, DTMR or TfNSW specifications highly desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in project engineering, including the development of program of works, cost tracking and forecasting
  • Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and implementation
  • Excellent client relationship management
  • A straight shooter with excellent problem solving capability
