Salary: £33,261 - £36,508

Location: Pullar House, Perth

Are you passionate about improving the quality of local greenspaces and working with communities? Then this is the role for you.

This permanent position offers the opportunity to join Community Greenspace in Perth and Kinross. The team manages parks, woodlands, cemeteries, and other greenspaces across a large area. The role involves working in partnership with community groups like Bloom Groups, Friends of Cemeteries, Paths Groups, and Friends of Parks, focusing on Bloom and Cemeteries groups.

The team supports sustainable grounds maintenance through initiatives like Grow Wild, fostering community involvement and environmental enhancement.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate community volunteering activities, especially with the Take a Pride in Perthshire Campaign.
  2. Support volunteer initiatives and develop partnerships with community groups to help meet budget targets.
  3. Possess practical knowledge of grounds maintenance or horticulture, with an understanding of safety management.
  4. Work with Council Services, external agencies, businesses, and volunteer groups to promote environmental care and enhancement.
  5. Encourage community participation in greenspaces and develop inclusive opportunities.
  6. Collaborate with other Council Services for budget efficiency and project development.
  7. Maintain customer feedback systems and promote community projects through publicity and social media.
  8. Prepare reports, deliver presentations, and attend meetings as required.
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in partnership working with community groups and delivering environmental projects.
  • Knowledge of greenspace management, volunteering, and funding maximization.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Financial administration and budgeting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Full driving license and physical fitness for site visits and community engagement.
Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum HND or equivalent, or at least 3 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for weekend and evening work.
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and continuous professional development.
