Position: Senior Correctional Officer (South Region) - Talent Pool Creation

Employment Type: Future ongoing and temporary opportunities

Salary: $94,451 pa with allowance, plus superannuation and annual leave loading

Your Role

Senior Correctional Officers are responsible for maintaining safety and wellbeing of staff and inmates, overseeing daily activities, and ensuring security in containment and oversight of inmate activities.

Essential Requirements
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or relevant custodial experience
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to operate official vehicles (if required)
  • Willingness to undertake shift work on a rotating roster
  • Proficiency in authorised instruments of restraint
Key Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge of emergency and riot procedures
  • Understanding of reception/discharge procedures, warrants, and bails
