Overview

CSSD Sterilisation Assistant role at Ramsay Health Care. The hospital location referenced is Warners Bay Private Hospital. The position involves reprocessing of reusable medical devices, including decontamination, processing, assembly, and inspection of devices and equipment for varying clinical departments. This is a critical part of the sterilising process, working within a team to support the perioperative team and patient care. Reporting to the Peri Op Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Process instruments, trays, and equipment in a timely manner within a team.
  • Work across various allocated areas in the CSSD and operate to maintain high operational standards.
  • Ensure consistency and continuous workflow between Operating Theatre areas and CSSD while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assist in the day-to-day coordination of CSSD activities.
  • Adhere to equipment care, handling, and re-processing minimum requirements.
  • Follow sterilisation standards and relevant legislation affecting practice.
  • Collaborate with Theatre and CSSD staff to ensure timely equipment processing.
Skills And Experience
  • CSSD experience is not required but preferred.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude; ability to work independently as required.
  • Customer service oriented in internal and external settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Good knowledge of AS 5369:2023 principles.
