Position: Test Lead/ Consultant (Microsoft Dynamics 365 - FinOps, Supply Chain, Power Platform)

Level: Senior Level (5 years +)

Location: Australia - Preference to candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide

Day Rate: Industry-aligned and negotiable, depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Test Lead / Consultant with strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance, Supply Chain, Power Platform) to lead testing activities across enterprise-level ERP transformation programs. This contract role requires a technically proficient, hands-on leader who can drive test strategy, coach users through UAT, and manage end-to-end testing processes including integration and automation.

The successful candidate will collaborate across business and IT teams to deliver robust, traceable, and policy-compliant testing outcomes while confidently engaging stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor functional and technical test teams.
• Assign roles and responsibilities aligned to individual skill sets and project needs.
• Foster collaboration across vendor, internal, and client stakeholders.
• Develop and manage end-to-end test plans covering functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and results using Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Test Execution & Automation
• Oversee execution of manual and automated test cases.
• Use RSAT for regression, Playwright for UI testing, and Postman (or similar tools) for API validation.
• Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Conduct UAT coaching sessions and facilitate testing workshops.
• Lead defect triage meetings and testing governance sessions.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to align testing activities with program goals and timelines.

Reporting & Metrics

• Monitor test execution, defect metrics, and quality indicators.
• Provide regular reporting to program leadership and drive continual improvement efforts.

Quality & Risk Management

• Contribute to performance and security testing initiatives.
• Manage test data, environments, and support risk-based test approaches.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in software testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or test consultancy role, ideally within ERP or Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments.

• Relevant IT or systems-related degree or equivalent background in data/ERP/CRM systems
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Supply Chain, and Power Platform modules.
• Proven experience with:
• Playwright (or Selenium) for UI automation
• Postman for API validation
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lead workshops and governance sessions with confidence and clarity.
• Experience with performance and security testing tools.
• Background in public sector, regulated industries, or large-scale enterprise projects.
