Overview

We are seeking experienced Aircrew Officers (ACO's x 4) for our new Hobart base to deliver rapid aeromedical interventions, police response and search & rescue operations in Tasmania.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver SAR, EMS & police missions across Tasmania
  • 4/4 roster for genuine work-life balance
  • Take on front-left seat and rear cabin duties for critical missions, including winch operations over land and water, primary response tasks, SAR missions, and inter-facility transfers
Mandatory Requirements
  • Strong communication skills
  • A safety-first attitude
  • Enthusiasm and drive to achieve and maintain the highest level of competency for Medical Transport and Emergency Service Operations
  • Hold or obtain a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania RWVP)
  • Domiciled within 2 hours drive of Hobart
  • Minimum 500 hours as a Helicopter Aircrew Officer
  • Certificate IV Aviation – Aircrew Officer
  • SAR / EMS experience on B412 or EC/H145
  • Winch Endorsement
  • NVIS qualification
  • CASA Class 2 Medical Certificate
  • Level 2 Occupational Health and Safety First Aid Qualification
  • Crew Resource Management / Human Factors
  • HUET / EBS Qualified
  • Dangerous Good Awareness
  • Ability to pass the LifeFlight Functionality Assessment (ACO)
Highly Desirable
  • Minimum 100 hours NVIS experience, including night winching
  • Front Left Hand Seat Operations (IFR)
  • AROC (Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate)
  • FLIR operations
  • Be fully vaccinated against MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B
Functionality Assessment
  • Abdominal Strength Test – 30 sit-ups under 2 minutes
  • Upper Body Strength Test – 20 push-ups under 2 minutes
  • Safe lifting techniques – 5 kettlebell deadlifts
  • 1km Equipment Transfer (16kg) – under 10 minutes
  • 500m Stretcher Carry (16kg) – under 6 minutes

Location note: All roles are based in Tasmania.
