Responsibilities
  • Manage the statutory compliance and administrative operations for the Office of the Public Interest Monitor (PIM)
  • Part time / fixed term role for 12 months
  • Supervise the Administrative Support Officer, provide direction and coaching and undertake performance management responsibilities
  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Deliver administrative and legislative requirements for the office, including records management, finance and budget, human resources, information technology, procurement, accommodation and contract management

About The Office Of The Public Interest Monitor

The Public Interest Monitor (PIM), of whom there are three, represents the public interest in decisions about powers and functions that may be exercised. Relevant powers and functions are grouped as "relevant applications" under the PIM Act. Other powers arise under the Witness Protection Act 1991 and the Human Source Management Act 2023. The PIM tests the content and sufficiency of information to support decisions to exercise those powers and functions.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Knowledge of, or the ability to acquire quickly knowledge of, legislation such as the Public Interest Monitor Act 2011 (Vic) and other relevant legislation imposing record-keeping and reporting obligations on the PIM
  • Proven ability to provide high-level and confidential legal and administrative support, with extensive experience handling confidential information
  • Proven experience in records management, finance and budget, human resources, information technology, procurement, accommodation and contract management
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience in liaising with various internal and external stakeholders
  • A Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain it
