Join our team of dedicated Virtual Health Clinicians and support Australians with their health concerns through the Healthdirect Helpline, also known as Nurse-on-Call in Victoria. - Providing health information and assessing symptoms.
- Conducting comprehensive telephone assessments.
- Recommending the appropriate time and place of care.
- Referring callers to other services such as the GP Helpline, Urgent Care Clinics, and Virtual Emergency Departments.
You are a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional virtual care. - At least 3 years of full-time (or equivalent) clinical experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse.
- A varied nursing background involving substantial public contact, including but not limited to complex primary health, acute medical, or emergency department settings.
- Confidence in applying critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-pressure situations across all age groups and clinical presentations.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with compassion and professionalism. You will interact with external services and serve vulnerable population groups with high rates of mental health issues, limited English proficiency, elderly, and poor health literacy.
- A high affinity with using computer systems, including telehealth platforms, databases, and digital communication tools.
- Enjoy making a difference in a flexible, home-based environment.
- Must be located within Australia.
- Part-time or full-time: Minimum 20 hours per week
- Flexible shifts: 2 to 10 hours
- Operational hours: 5 PM – 5 AM, Monday to Saturday
- Initial engagement: Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026
