#THE OAK AT ILLAWARRA CAFE

We are looking for a fun and talented head barista to join our team at Oak Flats (48a Central Avenue, Oak Flats). We are a new cafe offering modern Western and Italian cuisine to the beautiful community of Oak Flats and surrounding areas.

To be successful, you should have at least 2 years of barista experience in a busy cafe and be skilled in latte art.

As Part Of Our Team You'll Be Responsible For

  • Welcoming customers, taking their orders, and handling payments
  • Grinding coffee using a coffee grinder and adjusting it as needed
  • Preparing espresso-based coffee drinks, such as long black, flat white, caffè latte, and cappuccino
  • Preparing other beverages, including tea, hot chocolate, and freshly squeezed juices
  • Keeping coffee-making equipment clean throughout the day and thoroughly cleaning at the end of each day
  • Replenishing shelves and fridges with baked goods, snacks, and bottled drinks
  • Training new employees on equipment operation and drink preparation

The Successful Candidate For This Role Will Have

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good knowledge of hygiene and food safety regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
