Occupational Therapist - Cairns, Queensland.

Employment Type: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time.

Practice Information:
This practice has been successfully adapting to the ever-changing health, disability and aged care sectors for the past 25+ years. They are part of the community of Cairns and Far North Queensland. They have the professional resilience and grit to continue to provide compassionate, person centred and evidence-based OT services.

The practice has weekly team meetings, mentoring sessions and quarterly team in-services where the team come together with a focus on being the best OTs they can be, share the wins & challenges and gain support from each other. You will:

  • Receive the right amount of support and coaching, when you need it

  • Be challenged so you can grow to your true potential

  • Opportunity to upskill in an area of your interest

Position Description:
This practice needs another Occupational Therapist with a focus on one or two of our areas of expertise:

  • Home safety and equipment prescription

  • Work rehabilitation services and Ergonomics

  • Lymphoedema, swelling management

  • Neurological Rehabilitation

  • Hand and upper limb therapy

  • Pain management therapy

About You:

  • You value empathy, respect and kindness

  • You are a hands-on therapist, who builds relationships with your clients, referrers and the allied health team

  • You are a good communicator, both verbally and in writing

  • You believe in life-long learning and are keen to dive into knowing more about one or more of our areas of expertise

  • You enjoy a bit of diversity in your caseload

Position Requirements:

  • AHPRA registration

  • Federal Police Check

  • Hold current drivers license

Salary Information:
$44 - $58 per hour.

Cairns, considered the gateway to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, is a city in tropical Far North Queensland. Cairns Esplanade, lined with bars and restaurants, has a swimming lagoon. Northwest of the city, Daintree National Park spans mountainous rainforest, gorges and beaches. Cairns is a great base for exploring a beautiful part of the world.
