OverviewBarwon Health – Department of Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine is seeking an Accredited Anaesthetic Trainee (maternity leave cover) to cover a 12-month maternity leave position from February 2026 to February 2027. Applicants must be ANZCA accredited or eligible.

The Department of Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine currently employs approximately 70 Anaesthetic Consultants and 24 Anaesthetic Registrars. We support 17 operating theatres as well as a number of off the floor locations. A wide range of Clinical Anaesthetic services are provided including Regional Anaesthesia and Ultrasound, Obstetric and Paediatric Services, Cardiac Anaesthesia (including Transoesophageal Echocardiography) and a benchmark perioperative service (including CPET). The department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education and research activities and a strong focus on preparing senior trainees for consultant practice.
