Overview

Excavator Operator role at Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) in partnership with Sydney Water. D4C is a consortium comprising John Holland, Service Stream and WSP, delivering design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services across the Southern Region of Sydney.

Primary Purpose: To assist in excavation and operation of newly constructed watermains, pump stations, refurbished pump stations and large-scale treatment projects. Projects range from 6-12 months with potential ongoing permanent work. You will work on-site, operate equipment and undertake manual labour tasks. Experience on live sites is essential and attention to detail is critical.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in excavation and operation of watermains and pump stations on live sites.
  • Operate excavators and perform associated manual labour tasks.
  • Support surrounding works as part of project team to achieve contract goals.
  • Dig around live services, trench work and final trim as required.
  • Support capital projects with ad hoc rostered night shifts when needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience within the civil utilities space.
  • Trenching experience.
  • Shoring experience.
  • Bulking experience.
  • Backfilling experience.
  • Excavator tickets (SOA/VOC).
  • Front End Loader experience.
  • Truck Licence (MR/HR/HC desirable).
  • White Card.
  • Experience in a similar role in most of the activities listed above and the ability to provide references.
  • Physical fitness to complete all tasks.
Key Accountabilities
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Professional and courteous customer service on-site.
  • Problem-solving, attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team to achieve contract goals.
  • Experience digging around live services and trench work; final trim experience.
  • Experience operating 25-40 tonne excavators is desirable.
Work Schedule

Operating Monday to Friday with a 7:00 AM start (40 hours per week). Support for capital works projects with ad hoc rostered night shifts.
