Security Services Manager – Northern Tasmania

United Security Tasmania is seeking a hands-on and motivated Security Services Manager to oversee operations, build client relationships, and support business growth across Northern Tasmania. This is a key role in a growing Tasmanian-owned business and offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of regional service delivery and help shape future opportunities.
Location: Hybrid (Northern Tasmania – Launceston-based preferred)
Employment Type: Part-Time
Role Description
This on-site, part-time role is based in Northern Tasmania. The Security Services Manager will oversee security operations, coordinate and supervise security personnel, and ensure services are delivered in line with client expectations and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include engaging with clients to tailor security services, managing guard performance and rostering, conducting site visits and risk assessments, and identifying local business opportunities to support our growth in Northern Tasmania. The role also involves incident reporting, operational compliance, and supporting recruitment and training across the region.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Current Tasmanian Security Licence
- Current Full Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card
- Construction White Card
- Eligibility to work in Australia
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory or operational role within the security industry.
- Proven ability to manage rosters, deploy personnel, and oversee day-to-day site operations.
- Strong client service skills, with experience building and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities through local networking and referrals.
- Confident in representing the company during client meetings, site walkthroughs, and community engagements.
- Solid understanding of Tasmanian security regulations, licensing requirements, and compliance standards.
Skilled in conducting risk assessments, emergency response, and detailed incident reporting.
- Knowledge of access control systems, identification checks, and managing secure entry points.
- Proficient in using basic technology for rostering, reporting, and communication.
- Experience in sectors such as education, government, or public events (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflict calmly and professionally.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and on short notice.
- Prior hands-on experience in patrolling, security monitoring, and maintaining a strong visual presence.
Education:
- Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management is highly desirable but not mandatory.
