About the Opportunity

In this role you will provide professional civil engineering advice and input into the technical design, development, implementation and monitoring of a range of projects and proposals that contribute to achieving the City of Adelaide's Strategic Plan objectives outcomes. Some of these projects and proposals may include strategic cycling infrastructure, whole of street upgrades, Park Land improvements, stormwater upgrades and renewals.

You will be responsible for the provision of technical engineering advice and best practice standards in the preparation and documentation of designs in relation to drainage, kerb and road infrastructure, footpaths, water sensitive urban design and transport interfaces.

Some of the projects we are currently working on are:

  • Main Street Revitalisation Projects (Hutt Street, O'Connell Street, Gouger Street, Melbourne Street and Hindley Street)
  • Botanic Creek rehabilitation
  • Park 19 and Park 20 Channel rehabilitation projects
  • Greener City Streets Program
  • Variety of renewal projects.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the delivery of engineering design, documentation and quality assurance to meet highest industry standards and statutory regulations.
  • Experience and proficiency in civil engineering design of infrastructure and management of project design delivery, and ability to apply innovative and international best practice solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of materials, detailing and documentation that would support the delivery of exemplary transport, public domain, streetscape, stormwater and major projects.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of civil engineering, and emerging trends, principles and operations with an understanding of civil engineering operations and function.
  • Experience in preparing professional and technical reports for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience in the principles and practice of design in the areas of road, footpath and stormwater drainage infrastructure, streetscape, kerb & watertable replacement and road construction & rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of Australian standards and guidelines, Australian Rainfall & Runoff, codes of practice, authority regulations and accepted industry best practice for the design and installation of engineering services associated with Civil and Stormwater Engineering projects and Local Government public realm projects.
