Overview

Lawyer, Employment & Industrial Relations

Opportunity offering an autonomous role with significant responsibility within a Sydney-based Employment & Industrial Relations practice in a prestigious Australian corporate law firm. The position is suitable for an intermediate level lawyer with experience in employment law.

Responsibilities
  • Litigation matters including breach of contract, breach of consumer law, general protections, underpayment claims, unfair dismissal claims and equity.
  • Drafting of Australian employment contracts and policies (including equity and non-equity compensation plans).
  • Provide advice regarding statutory entitlements, industrial instruments (including Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements), termination of employment, redundancy, restraints, and transfer of business issues.
  • Advise on, and negotiate, enterprise agreements with employees and trade unions.
  • Collaborate with the firm's other offices from time to time.
Requirements
  • A solicitor with 2 to 4 years' proven experience in employment law from a recognised practice.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
