About the role
The SUEZ Ice Pigging Service provides an innovative way of cleaning pipes, using an ice slurry. Primarily used drinking water pipes, the ice slurry is pumped into the pipe at one end, and taken out from the other, collecting and removing any sediment contained within the pipe on the way. Ice Pigging is a valuable tool, used by water companies across Australia, with projects ranging from days to months.
An opportunity now exists to join our team as an Ice Pigging Operator you will deliver the ice pigging service to customers where required including making slush ice, water system operation, and liaising with customer onsite representatives to deliver the service. More specifically you will :
Ensure the production of slush ice adhering to the quality of the final product to maintain best cleaning outcomes.
Deliver the ice pigging service at various locations as specified by the customer.
Assisting in the mobilisation and demobilisation of ice pigging equipment
Undertake preventative maintenance tasks ensuring equipment is running efficiently.
Respond to equipment breakdowns.
Report to manager / coordinator any equipment or safety issues that you become aware of as part of daily operations.
Cooperate with all HSEQ policies and procedures.
About you
Ideally you have 2 years' experience in the water industry / water network operations. A valid HR / HC licence and / or a trade qualification in plumbing, electrical, mechanical or similar is preferred. You have sound verbal and written communication skills, hold safety as a core value and bring a hands-on approach to problem solving.
This position will be working from the northern suburbs of Melbourne and will require you to live away from home for approximately 6 months of the year with overtime rates on offer. You will also need to be available as part of a strand by roster to respond to after-hours breakdowns.
