The opportunity

Our Roadside & Drainage team is seeking a dedicated Team Leader who loves their work and is driven to grow personally and professionally. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality work.

You will lead and inspire our team in delivering safe, sustainable civil construction and maintenance projects, including roads, drainage, footpaths, cycleways, carparks, street and roadside furniture, and other assets, ensuring program requirements are met while maintaining job satisfaction.

  • This is a permanent full-time position – 38 hours/week with flexible arrangements such as a 4-day week.
  • Base Salary Range: $69,600 to $81,716 per annum, plus 12% superannuation, $908 adverse work conditions allowance, and $2,464 retention allowance.
  • Location: PSC Nelson Bay Depot.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading, directing, monitoring, and mentoring the team.
  2. Undertaking maintenance and minor construction of roadside and drainage civil infrastructure per Service Agreements and Project Schedules.
  3. Conducting asset inspections and scheduling maintenance for drainage systems, guide posts, culverts, and chemical spraying on local and RMS roads.

  • A Certificate III in Civil Construction or relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to obtain relevant accreditations such as ChemCert, Traffic Controller, Traffic Control plans, Safe Work Near Power Lines, and First Aid.
